Dianne Ma

Throughout my internship at Wiseman, I learned what it is like to work for an educational company, including working schedules, interpersonal relationships between colleagues, and the importance of presenting deliverables to superiors, all of which were critical skills I developed during my time there.

One of the standout aspects of the internship was the inspiring environment created by my co-workers. David’s heartfelt speech about his passion for the LOL workshops was particularly impactful. His dedication to improving education and genuine love for the learners deeply inspired me. This passion motivated me to pour my efforts into the website, aiming to make it the “jar for the honey” that would effectively promote the LOL workshops. Working alongside such passionate individuals made me appreciate the importance of being driven by a greater purpose in one’s work.

I also appreciated the support I received from Cutson and Clement. Cutson’s approach to problem-solving was especially helpful. Instead of just fixing the issues, he taught me to resolve them on my own. Thanks to his patience, I improved my technical skills and boosted my confidence in solving similar challenges in the future. Clement’s attention to detail and ability to pinpoint specific problems on the website helped clarify my tasks. His guidance ensured that I was able to deliver quality work consistently.

The best part of the internship was the sense of achievement I felt after solving complex problems. Some issues needed time and persistence to resolve, but overcoming them was satisfying. This experience instilled in me greater confidence in my abilities, making me believe that I can solve any problem I encounter with enough effort and determination.

Overall, this internship was more than just a learning experience; it was a journey of growth. It taught me technical knowledge, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving skills. I will carry these lessons with me in the future, and I am more confident in my ability to contribute meaningfully to any team or project.

Thomas Tsui

Hello there! I am Thomas, an English student at HKU. This year is my second summer working at Wiseman.

Working at Wiseman means there are a plethora of tasks, which may vary from day to day. In the first year, I started with mapping out schedules for EB lessons, many of which had to be specially adjusted according to each school’s curriculum. This required a good deal of focus and precision. I was also tasked with creating PowerPoints, then holding real-time presentation sessions for Form 1 students entering the EB programme, which were frequent during August and September. This allowed me to practise speaking and build my confidence, skills that I sometimes fall behind in.

Apart from these jobs, I also got to try out writing study material for the students, applying my English knowledge in real life. A bit less glamorous was storing and packing books to deliver to schools, which is admittedly quite repetitive and physically demanding, but nonetheless an important job. This year, I got to try out some AI-based software to assist in creating material too, keeping up with modern advances and trends.

Despite the above making it seem like a strenuous job, working at Wiseman is quite chill. I got to learn different skills from almost all of the staff, not just technical, but also interpersonal and communication skills that have many benefits. The environment is splendid and it took me no time to fit in. I learnt a lot about how a company functions and the day-to-day jobs needed to keep it running.

Overall, working at Wiseman is an enjoyable experience and an excellent place for an internship.

Charlie Yue

Hi! I am Charlie, a year 3 student at the University of Hong Kong. I have always been interested in education and plan to be a teacher as my future career. Wiseman has allowed me to delve deeper into this field, I learned the importance of having a clear understanding of the target audience and how to create content that appeals to them. Initially, I expected to solely finish my assigned tasks. But my welcoming colleagues lent me a helping hand in times of difficulty and allowed me to complete my tasks more efficiently, giving me feedback on my performance. Overall, my internship at Wiseman was a valuable experience that allowed me to develop my skills, learn about the educational industry, and work on meaningful projects. I am grateful for the opportunity and look forward to applying what I learned in future endeavors.

Winston Lo

Hello! I'm Winston, a year 2 student at HKU. My internship experience at Wiseman Education over the past few months has been incredibly enriching and rewarding. During my internship, I delved into various tools like Canva and Adobe, broadening my skill set. The friendly and supportive colleagues at Wiseman were always willing to guide me. While mastering new tools was valuable, the real highlight was developing problem-solving abilities that will undoubtedly serve me well in the future. I am truly grateful for this opportunity, as it has not only enhanced my technical skills but also instilled in me a sense of confidence and adaptability. Thank you, Wiseman Education, for an unforgettable internship experience. I look forward to possibly returning in the future.
